Nourishment is king. If you want to lose weight, boost your metabolism and feel your best, you need to deeply nourish your body every day. Green smoothies are the perfect way to do all of this and help boost your body's own fat-burning ability. Jam-packed with essential dietary fibre, green smoothies keeps you feeling fuller for longer and naturally regulates your body's cleansing processes. They are also a super tasty and nourishing way to get a big, hearty dose of extra green veggies and supersede your recommended daily intake of greens. A nourished body functions better and can more efficiently balance body fat, self-detox and feel great!

Get A Boost Of Nutrients

Green smoothies are an amazing way to give your body a major boost of essential nutrients and an inexpensive way to supplement your diet naturally. Because smoothies are in liquid form, they are digested faster and hit the bloodstream quicker than having to digest a main meal. This makes them a fabulous, wholefood choice for breakfast so you start the day completely nourished.


Feed Your Gut Microbes

Green smoothies are jam-packed with dietary fibre which is essential for good gut health and weight loss. Just about everybody who does my 7 Day Fat-Burning Smoothie Challenge reports back that they can really feel the difference. This is because fibre helps to feed gut microbes improving gut health while also cleaning our your intestinal tract and improving bowel movements. Less backed up sludge, means a lighter feeling you and much less uncomfortable bloating.


Fat-Burning Ingredients

Green smoothies can give you a sneaky fat-burning boost if you choose key ingredients known to support the body's own fat burning capabilities. Ingredients such as coffee and green tea can boost the metabolism by providing a hit of caffeine and essential nutrients. Green tea contains antioxidants plus polyphenol epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) which are compounds that can help you burn fat. Add a shot of coffee or brewed green tea to your smoothies and over a short time, you'll notice the difference.


Detox Naturally

When you consume smoothies, all the densely nutritious ingredients are partially broken down by the blender blades which means less work for your stomach. The incoming goodness is more easily digested and the nutrients more easily absorbed. That means within 20 minutes or less that handful of kale or spinach is hitting your cells more efficiently and in a more bio-available form.

All of this is important especially if you are detoxing to lose weight. This gives the digestive system less work to do and a little rest, but doesn't sacrifice any nutrition. Green smoothies being primarily plantbased and used in raw form, means the natural plant compounds and enzymes remain intact when you consume them. Raw foods are rich in essential nutrients that can help boost the body’s natural detoxification and cell renewal pathways. Higher in fibre, this also help you eat less, feel fuller for longer and better stick to your weight loss plans.


Up Your Protein Intake

Protein is super important for burning fat. Consuming extra protein can help you naturally burn more fat by boosting your metabolism at the same times as curbing your appetite. It also helps your body preserve muscle mass. Add 1-2 scoops of up to 30g of protein to your smoothies or choose naturally high in protein ingredients such as pumpkin and chia seeds, peas, spirulina, whey or vegan protein powders.


Start at least 1-3 mornings with densely nutritious green smoothie recipes with natural appetite supressing and fat burning properties. Not only will you feel satisfied, energised and fuller for longer using high-fibre avocado in your smoothies, you'll be creating glowing skin, as well as stronger hair and nails.

Weight Loss Detox Green Smoothie Made With Greens, Mango & Banana

Try this smoothie recipe at least once per week and see if you notice a difference in how you look and feel. This recipe is loaded with essential nutrients and can be enjoyed as main meal.


Green Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients


  • 1/2 cup spinach, organic and raw

  • 1/2 banana, frozen is best

  • 1/2 mango, personally I love Kensingtons for this

  • 1/4 kale, organic, de-stemmed

  • 1 scoop vegan protein powder (30g)

  • 250ml plantbased milk, I use Ulu Hye Nut Mylk

  • 2 tsp maca root powder

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds


Method

Blend all ingredients in a high-powered blender and serve in a mason jar with ice cubes for a delicious breakfast or lunch. Alternatively, you can serving in a bowl and top with homemade granola, nuts, seeds and berries for main meal.
