Break Bad Habits & Create A Positive Prevention Plan

Breaking unwanted habits can be hard, especially if you’ve been engaging in them for a long time. However, understanding what triggered the habit and behaviour in the first place can help greatly. Let's explore this concept...

Reflection Exercise

One of the very first steps to take to undo bad habits, is to uncover how and why the undesirable behavior was formed in the first place. Second, you'll need to tackle why this behavior got triggered in the here and now. This two-step approach to each undesirable habit is an eye-opening exercise and well worth the time it takes to be quietly inward and honest with yourself.

Taking a closer look into the how and the why is very helpful, and something I regularly recommend to my clients. This week we'll be spending a few days tracking your undesirable habits (if you are aware of them) and see whether these habits follow any emotional or lifestyle related patterns.

📥 Use the Worksheet found in the Week 4 workbook to track and document your habits. For the next 2-3 days, become more mindful of where your bad habits are cropping up, what happened right beforehand, and how this made you feel. Once you have identified the problem areas, we will be creating a Positive Prevention Plan to help you anticipate what obstacles might arise and better yet, how to dodge them in the first place. Don't forget to look out for Week 4 posts in the Members Group and join the conversation on our weekly Zoom discussion this week.
